I ordered four of the de-milled M14 receiver halves/paperweights for use in the office (all 4 were Harrington Richardson). They're beautiful and will look nice. I'm probably going to order a second set. I understand it's luck of the draw, but would be nice if for an extra $5 or so, to have a choice of manufacturer.

Currently we are out of most manufacturers and what we do have at the moment are H&R. Hawk
Awesome. That sure was fast. I just love your kits.

I received my kit. I like it. Makes my Fed Ord pop...

"Managed to pick up a set of four M14 Receiver Heels from Hawk. He did such an "outstanding" job on them with a few finishing touches that I just had to order a second set of four. Having trained with the M14 and humping one in The Nam I just had to have a few pieces of history from that era. Might even be getting me some more. You can't go wrong with these nostalgic pieces that were once part of a fine weapon and possibly may have been in combat. Great stuff with fast shipping too. R. "SixTGunr" Mack, MO"
The kit arrived today. Beautiful product as always. The connector rod looks to be NOS!
Thanks,

I bought one of these for my first M14. The project was just converting an existing one to a USGI version. I really enjoyed fitting the part and closing up those big gaps in the stock. It now looks and functions wonderfully. Thanks for offering these parts.

Great product. Installed with no problems and good online instructions.

Very easy installation, just as described. Took 40 mins. being extra careful and checking every thing several times. One note: When installing switch base in stock It was necessary to clamp part in place with 2" C clamp to maintain base exactly parallel with receiver. ( Rear screw was the culprit so installed front screw then used clamp to force alignment and hold for drilling.) Rear of rod would bind on receiver if not held securely in place for drilling. Stock could have been relieved to facilitate however I chose not to and found this a suitable means to install correctly.
Over all very pleased!!

Ordered two M14 butt plates. These exceeded my expectations! They look like new, were reasonable priced, and shipped fast!

I have purchased several kits from Hawk over the years and have never been disappointed. His work is top notch and the kits look and function great!

The Ambi kit is a great value and enhancement to any enthusiasts M14/M1A rifle. I've installed 3 kits now...Pro tip....cover the stock side operating rod area with painters tape to avoid any damage to the stock and to provide a writing surface to index the switch and op rod down the receiver and bolt to op rod interface. It is crucial that the switch be placed properly to avoid clashing. The shim washers provided will allow a double to single stack to allow some forward or rearward switch travel. I also put a forward leaning cut on the op rod to clear any bolt travel and stay snug to the stock. Installing another kit soon and hope to post pix of the project...Thanks again, Hawk

Was a bit intimidating at first but as long as you follow the instructions on the website and take your time it will turn out great! Had to do a little light sanding on the inside of the stock to get the Connector arm to sit properly using my new M1A but it worked perfectly. Since I did have a "Big Red" Walnut stock the shims were needed to sit properly next to the op rod rail, but both sets of shims were the perfect height. Takes some fitting but was well worth it.

The kit worked out great. I dremeled the connector to clear in the front and removed the tab on the back and all fit perfectly. FWIW I had one of your competitor’s kits advertised on another Forum. However, once I looked it over, I decided not to use it. Your kit is a much better solution and certainly worth the few extra $$. My rifle turned out great. You wouldn’t know it wasn’t a 1960’s M14 select fire looking at it.

I cannot say enough about these kits, they make your rifle look "Complete" It was a breeze to install, and the owner is very helpful, courteous and, shipping time was extremely fast. I would highly recommend getting one of these kits.here to edit.

Here are two of my M14s with Sparrow Hawk's Full Kit installed. Easily done and what a difference in appearance. I urge any one with a GI stock to do this. Thanks Hawk for continuing to make these kits available.

I have purchased 4 M14 Dummy Selector kits from Sparrowhawk
for my collection. Installation was
straight forward and the results look authentic. Due to the quality of Tony's
work, there is minimal prep required on your original stock. I installed my
last one with Dremel tool and a pin
vise.

Hi, Received my Hawk's Deluxe AMBI kit today. I had just ordered
it three days earlier. The kit is all and more than I had expected. The kit is
so well made that you cannot tell the difference between my converted M14 from
the real thing. If you are a gun collector and you want to convert your M1A to (
look just like a real )a M14, buy the Hawk's Deluxe AMBI Kit.

Sir; the FSD kit arrived in 3 days; I had installed one
before, so I had an idea of how to go about this. Every stock is different though, and this
newer Springfield has the wider op rod rail.
However, with just about 20 minutes and following your very clear
instructions, the new kit was installed.
Looks great. Thank you sir!
I couldn't be more pleased!

I ordered the Hawk's Full Dummy kit and I am very pleased with it! My kit shipped fast and looks great once installed. My receiver had the wider op-rod rail so I had to grind the connector arm to fit using the instructions posted on the website, it was worth the effort! It looks exactly how I hoped and fills the gaps in my USGI stock perfectly! I highly recommend this kit if you want an authentic look.

2nd time I have ordered from Hawk. These selectors have fit perfectly both times, and the construction and finish is top notch. John offers several options which accommodate about any situation in assembling a truly authentic looking M14.
And shipping is amazingly fast which makes my wait for this awesome option mercifully short!
This is the one item that makes an immediate change in the appearance of your rifle from an M1A to an M14!
Purchase Hawk's M14 Dummy Kits with absolute confidence, you will be very impressed!
Thanks again Hawk!

Hawk,
Received your kit yesterday, appreciate the fast shipping and quality product .
Reviewed online pictures / instructions. Used a Dremel when needed and it fits like a glove. Your detailed instructions made it much easier to install . I kept on referring to them during the installation process, took my time and I’m extremely pleased.

I had to do some slight mods to the connector rod to allow for the op rod guide pin, as you show in your instructions.
Great item.
I am thinking about using the flipper version so may need to order one of those. Are they in stock? I am thinking I would need the FDS-AMBI correct? But all I need to do is replace the base and associated lever/flipper switch.

Robert M., CA

Hi, I trained with the M-14 in "67" and carried one in Nam and have one in my gun-safe now. Even with the Bi-pod it was too much gun on full auto. But I love that old saying "Reach out and touch some-one" I fired Expert (me and 9 guys fired the same high score for the Battalion)and when they (the US Army) tried to give me a new
"16" I could not get through a mag without it jamming.(F-That) I did not have to lump it anyhow just throw in a Duce and a half and off I went. I also had an M-3 Grease Gun (to slow) and a Thompson Sub Machine Gun.(Captured in Korea and brought across China, down to the North Vietnamese. Smooth as glass but heavy with the mags(8)
Like I said, Love the M-14 I'm Glade I found Your Web Page
You-All Take Good Care Now.
PS/ do you know the trick about the rear sear on the trigger? On second thought I should not say anything (Better Safe than Sorry) But I noticed on Your picture (above) and there is a selector switch there)
PPS/ And just for Laughs, I'm in a V.A. Hospital right now and having those Flash-Backs.
Again, You-All Take Good Care.

I have one of the M14 Dummy kits. Now that I know the quality I wish I'd ordered two or three. Easy enough to install. Looks like the real thing. Now I have to order another one.

Part arrived quickly and in good order. Drilled two holes in my original issue M14 stock and screwed the part in. Looks good and fills up the hole. Makes my M1A look more like from the 60's. No problems. I recommend it highly!

I recently purchased my 4th kit from Hawk. all the other went in perfectly, but i was having a minor issue with the new kit which was probably my fault. When I told Hawk about it, he immediately sent me an exchange free of charge with no questions asked.
This is a great product backed up by super customer service.

Installed your kit on a GI, DOD cartouche, National Match stock I rescued from a 55 gallon drum for $20 at Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. I restored the stock and added your kit. I will be shooting the rifle at Camp Butner in the Modern Military Rifle Match...as part of the CMP's Eastern Games Marches in May. Looks great...your kit completed the rifle! You can post the pics if you like.
Thanks, Gil S., WI

Thank you for taking the time before you left for what I assume was a weekend vacation to ship my order that was placed on Thursday. Received an e-mail on Thursday evening that it would ship the next morning. E-mail was sent because you were going to be gone and wanted me to know the status before you returned Monday evening. Product arrived Monday AM here.
Thanks for the prompt service !! Looks like a quality product. I'll be installing it this week.
I said I'd give you a 5 (of 5) but after our communication, and your sense of humor as well as the FAST DELIVERY, I'll change that to a 10.

Hawk,
I also wanted to thank you for consideration in refunding my money even though it was my error during the ordering process.
Additionally, I thought that you might be interested in seeing the attached photo, the first one I quickly shot of my initial assembly of the M14 described below, with your dummy kit aboard, for fit/headspacing/etc, prior to disassembly for re-finishing of the some of the parts needing it. The mods required to the stock for dummy kit installation were very minimal... only took a few minutes with the Dremel & Exacto knife. They were to slightly rout out the area at the forward connector hook in order to square up & align the connector with the receiver's op rod rail for a squared-away look and then some minor wood removal on one end of the selectorswitch/disconnector lug pocket in the stock for the new welded-on selector switch base as it appeared to be slightly misaligned when welded.
I think it looks great... damned near fooled ME!... it has fooled/made "dummys" of a couple of very knowledgeable M-14 buffs from these parts to the point of embarrassment where I had to separate the rifle's groups for inspection in order to prove that it's NOT a full-auto weapon! I guess THAT says it all.
You have come up with the most unique accessory kit for the M-14... great work!
If you like, I'll take another shot or two of the completed/re-finished results & send them along.
Thanks again for all the above,
Mike

Good Afternoon Hawk,
Just a short note to 1. let you know that I did receive your kit yesterday and 2. That I just finished installing and fire testing it, it was perfect, no interference at all. I did need to do a little more work to the kit and the stock than your instructions called for, but no problems. I used the dremel, a hand file and some cold blue to touch up where I cut and filed and it looks great, again, with no interference at all. Thank you and enjoy your weekend, I think another beer is called for!
